Urban Dove

Coming
Fall 2027

A team behind you. A future ahead of you.

Self-paced

All students move at a pace that matches their skill level. Curriculum is individualized. Classes are small and have multiple teachers to ensure every student gets the support they need.

Sports

Every student is placed on a team and is given a full-time coach. Teams compete together, go to class together and support each other. Coaches ensure every member of the team stays on track to graduation.

Opportunities

Every graduate creates a post-secondary plan that meets their interest and needs. Some choose college, some choose career, but every student is prepared for both through internships, college advising and summer jobs.

Urban Dove Team Memphis II is part of a national network of successful charter schools founded in 2012. We combine teams, positive coaches, mentoring, and individualized support to help you build the skills and confidence to graduate and reach your full potential.

Meet Our School Leader
James Q. Bacchus II

James Q. Bacchus II is a Memphis native and longtime educator with nearly 20 years of experience working with students, families, teachers, and school communities. He began his career as a classroom teacher and has since served in several school leadership roles across traditional, charter, and alternative education settings.
Throughout his career, James has been especially passionate about working with young people who may not have found success in a traditional school setting. He believes relationships, accountability, high expectations, and meaningful opportunities can change the direction of a young person’s life.
As the Founding School Leader of Urban Dove Memphis, James is excited to bring together his experience in education with his deep connection to the city that raised him. He looks forward to building a school where students feel known and supported while being challenged to grow academically, personally, and professionally.
For James, opening Urban Dove Memphis is more than launching a school—it is an opportunity to serve the community that helped shape him and help create another pathway for Memphis students to succeed.
